Steel River‘s “Ten Pound Note“, first single (Tuesday 101) from their 1970 album “Weighin’ Heavy”, written by A Passing Fancy songwriter, Jay Telfer.
Two albums, “Weighin’ Heavy” (1970) and “A Better Road” (1971) were licensed world-wide by Axe Records Canada. Steel River band members Bob Forrester (keyboards), Rob Cockell (bass), Tony Dunning (lead Guitar) Ray Angrove (drums) and with lead singer John Dudgeon were booked in the 70s by the William Morris Agency and became an international touring success, performing on three major American tours with Humble Pie, Black Sabbath, The James Gang, Melanie, Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Edgar Winters, Mountain, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, etc. Buy the CD here.
